Pennsylvania Dealers Discuss Toyota’s Plans for Seaweed Car

pa auto dealersYour Pennsylvania dealers want to discuss Toyota’s plans for building a car made from seaweed in the not-so-distant future. Leave it to Toyota to build something that’s “greener” than any other vehicle on the road today!

The new seaweed car would be a super efficient plug-in hybrid that is much, much lighter than any car on the road today. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be on dealer lots for at least another 10 or 15 years. The concept, however, is gaining popularity. The bioplastics industry is gaining ground for manufacturing car bodies rather than the current carbon fiber materials.

Bioplastics are nothing new, though. If you have a cell phone case or gift cards, you are carrying around bioplastics every day of your life. USA Today even predicts that the demand for bioplastics will increase to about 50 billion pounds within the next five years. Creating products from bioplastics also uses 30 percent less energy than petroleum-based products, making it more “green” and efficient all the way around.

You won’t be seeing the seaweed car at your Doylestown area Toyota dealer anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean you can’t visit one today and get the latest in green engineering and efficiency. There are several current models to choose from so you can still help the environment while driving on the roads!
