Don’t Text and Drive in Your Audi Cars

pennsylvania dealersWith more and more states and counties banning texting while driving, you may face a hefty fine if you are caught doing it in your Audi cars.

In Pennsylvania, banning cell phones for drivers behind the wheel of a car is getting closer to becoming a law. Just a couple weeks ago, the City Council’s Committee on Streets and Services unanimously voted for the legislation. This allows it to pass to the full council for consideration. Councilmen Bill Green (R), Frank Rizzo, Jr. (R) and Bill Greenlee (D) are sponsoring the “hands-free” bill which will, in effect, ban drivers from using their cell phone for talking or texting while they are driving. Right now, the legislation is focusing on Philadelphia, but it will likely spread throughout the state if it passes.

“This legislation protects pedestrians, bicyclists, roller bladders, skateboarders and fellow motorists,” said Mr. Green.

The council heard hours of testimony concerning people who got into accidents or collisions as the result of talking on their cell phones and not paying attention. Since cell phones have become so much more sophisticated and users can surf the net, look up sports scores and do so much more, these devices are more of a distraction than anything else when you are driving.

Your Allentown area Audi dealers want you and your family to stay safe on the roads. We encourage you to put away your cell phone when you are behind the wheel. Whether it goes into law or not, be a responsible driver and pull over before using your cell phone.
