Reading the Window Sticker at Your VW Dealer

vw dealersOne of the most important aspects of choosing a new car at your Allentown area VW dealer is knowing how to read the window sticker. This sticker will tell you everything you need to know about the car so you can make an informed decision before plunking down your money. Here are some things to look for to help you make that final decision.

Car Information
This part of the window sticker tells you the year, make and model of the vehicle as well as the Vehicle Identification Number.

Standard Equipment and Options
This tells you the standard equipment included on this particular model as well as the features that have been added to the car you are looking at. It should also include the cost of those features and the specs on the vehicle.

Fuel Economy Ratings
This is one of the first things most car buyers look at. This tells you how many miles you will get per gallon on the highway and with city driving.

Destination Charges
This is the cost of getting the car from the manufacturer to your VW dealer. This cost is included in the sticker price.

Safety Rating
This is a rather new addition to the window sticker. It tells you the NHTSA’s rating for front and side impact crashes as well as the rollover risk.

Now that you know some of the things the window sticker tells you, you can shop with more confidence at your VW dealer!

VW Dealers Discuss the Rabbit

vw dealersWith the Volkswagen Rabbit making an appearance in the movie Twilight, it got us thinking about the history of this German car. In case you didn’t know, the VW Rabbit is one of the German automaker’s greatest success stories. Here are some facts you may or may not have known about this VW creation.

• The Rabbit was exported to the United States market in 1975. Up until then, Volkswagen did not have a good reputation in the North American market.
• The Rabbit hit the US market at the right time – when Americans were experiencing a gas crisis and looking for more efficient cars.
• The standard Rabbit had a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine with about 65 horsepower. The upgraded GTO version had a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine with 90 horsepower.
• The Rabbit GTI could get up to 30 miles to the gallon. Back then, that was great! It’s not too shabby for these days, either.
• The Rabbit has become a sort of cult classic for enthusiasts and VW collectors.

Toyota Dealers Experiencing Surge in Sales

new carsIf you have visited your Glenside area Toyota dealers during the “cash for clunkers” program, you have probably noticed a large number of people shopping for new cars. In fact, one Toyota model has sold especially well due to the program.

The new Toyota Corolla recently surpassed the Ford Focus in sales during the cash for clunkers program. Those figures came from the Department of Transportation earlier this month. With this news, foreign automakers are now producing five of the six best-selling vehicles eligible for the cash for clunkers vouchers. However, many of those are still built in North America so they are still providing thousands of jobs for American workers.

As of August 5, more than 184,300 trade-ins have been accepted from dealers across the nation. As a result, more than $775 million of the $1 billion allotted for the program has been used.

The Toyota Corolla is a great investment. It can get upwards of 45 miles to the gallon and if you take care of it, the Corolla will last for hundreds of thousands of miles. Visit your local Toyota dealers today and see why so many people are opting for the Corolla as their next car of choice. It may just become your next car, too!

Does Buying a Car Now Sound Crazy? Not So Much!

vw carsWith everything going on in the world in terms of financial instability and uncertainty, you might think this is a bad time to buy a new or certified used car. But if you can qualify for an auto loan and you have been thinking about replacing your current vehicle, now may be the perfect time to get a great deal.

Dealers are looking for buyers these days as banks have tightened their restrictions on lending. As a result, buyers with good credit are at a point where they can negotiate a great deal. Qualified buyers are becoming rare which means fewer cars are being sold. This is a great opportunity if you have good credit.

Another reason why now is the perfect time to visit your Trenton area VW dealer is because of the Cash Allowance Rebate System program, or CARS. With this program, buyers trading in their old “clunkers” may be eligible for vouchers worth up to $4,500. The amount of the voucher depends on the type of the car you are trading in and the type of car you choose to purchase.

For more information about the CARS program and to get a good deal on a great car, visit your VW dealer today and take advantage of the current opportunities that are available. You never know when something like this is going to happen again.

Now Is the Best Time to Buy from Your Toyota Dealers

toyota dealersWith the uncertain economic times, it may sound weird to say that right now is probably the best time to visit your Conshohocken area Toyota dealer for a new car. But it’s true. Well, it’s at least the best time we are going to see for a long time.

First of all, you have the CARS program working for you. Thanks to the federal government, you can get up to a $4,500 voucher towards the purchase of a more efficient vehicle at your Toyota dealer. There are some guidelines and regulations to follow to be eligible for this voucher, but the $4,500 makes up for the hoops you have to jump through. Besides, you will also have a new car that uses less fuel so you save more money in the long run.

In addition to that, dealers are waiting to give great deals to people who qualify for an auto loan. With banks getting stricter with their loans and fewer people taking the car-buying plunge, it’s easier to negotiate on a price with a car dealer.

With both of these things working for you, what’s stopping you from getting off your couch and rushing to your Toyota dealer right now?

VW Dealers Welcome Your Clunkers

vw dealersThe past few weeks have been great for VW dealers. Consumers who have been waiting for the “cash for clunkers” program to go into effect finally got their chance to get a sizeable rebate towards the purchase of a new, more efficient vehicle.

At first, the program seemed a bit shaky as the federal government ran out of its first $1 billion allotment dedicated to purchasing clunkers. Within the next couple weeks, Congress pumped in another $2 billion to accommodate the consumer demand.

Some consumers are just excited to splurge a little on something since the last couple years have been so tight financially. “That’s what energizes people, is the idea that they spend money – everything goes in a circle. Everyone has more fun. For the last 20 months all we’ve talked about is ‘woe is me,’ and hopefully this stimulus has got the woe is me over!” explained Randy Price, one VW dealer.

As a result of the federal program, July was the best month for auto sales in more than a year. August can be even better. Visit your Philadelphia area VW dealer to cash in on the “cash for clunkers” deal and get your “piece of the pie.” You’ll be surprised how good you feel when you spend a little of the government’s money on yourself.

Pennsylvania Dealers Ask: Could Cell Phone and Driving Ban Go Federal?

pennsyvlania dealersWith state after state banning the use of handheld cell phones while driving, the federal government is chiming in by proposing the idea of making the ban nationwide. Instead of allowing each state to make the decision like they do with their seat belt laws and other traffic guidelines, the government thinks it would be a good idea to take control by restricting money to states that do not ban the use of cell phones while driving.

Charles Schumer, a Democrat Senator from New York, proposed the idea initially in the Senate. “The federal government ought to pass a law banning this dangerous and growing practice to protect the millions of Americans on our nation’s roads. It is a matter of public safety,” he explained.

Within six months of signing the bill into law if it passes, the transportation secretary would have to issue guidelines to the states. The states would then have up to two years to approve the cell phone and texting ban while driving.

Your Glenside area Toyota dealers want to know what you think about this. Do you think it is necessary for the federal government to get into this issue? It seems like there is another state every day banning the use of cell phones behind the wheel. Is a nationwide ban a good idea or does it give too much power to the federal government?

CARS Program Bringing Buyers to Philadelphia area VW Dealers

new carsThe federal government’s CARS program, or Cash for Clunkers, began just a few weeks ago and it is already proving to be a great attraction for Philadelphia area VW dealers. For some VW dealers across the country, they are experiencing a huge increase in sales.

But since the program has gone into effect, some of the rules have changed. According to some dealers, several of the deals they made with customers are no longer good. The EPA has changed some of the fuel regulations which disqualifies some fuel-efficient vehicles from the program that were eligible just a week ago. In addition, the new rules mean more paperwork and more red tape for many dealers trying to sell fuel-efficient cars to customers.

On the bright side, those new rules and guidelines may mean that some VW vehicles that were not eligible before are now eligible for the vouchers which range between $3,500 and $4,500.

The best thing to do if you are unsure about which vehicles qualify for the CARS program is to visit your VW dealer and ask a sales representative how to get an eligible vehicle. We are happy to help you get the most car for your money so you can put your voucher to use!
