Pennsylvania’s traffic-related deaths fell from 1,525 to 1,491 (2.2 percent) and New Jersey’s statistics dropped from 771 to 724 (6.1 percent). California had the biggest decline, however, with 266 fewer deaths in 2007 than in 2006.
